Two Wrong Surgeries
I am in need of finding a Dr. just about anywhere who will fix the errors of the other Dr.s.
In 1988 I had a VBG. I has lost about 89lbs and stayed there for about 1.5 years. I then starting gaining weight at a dramatic amount, by 1993 I had gained all of it back plus 50 lbs.. plu another 50 lbs. by 2002.
I had gall bladder problems and was referred to a surgeon by my PCP. The surgeon also did bariatric surgery. He talked to me about a revision to RNY and removing the gall bladder at that time. I was so excited to get the RNY procedure because I had heard such good things about it. After surgery the surgeon informed my husband and mother that the first surgery was done incorrectly and that is why I was unable to lose more weight and put it back on. That evening I had an embolism to the lung and was rushed ICU for 3 days. 2 weeks after surgery I had prancreaitis.
I have moved to SC from KC, MO. I had to have an endoscopy due to problems. The Dr. who did this was a Bariatric Surgeon. The result were not good. I had only lost 69 lbs and was starting to regain it. The Dr. said the surgery had been done wrong. The pouch was 3X bigger then it was suppose to be and the outlet of the stomach was huge.
I can't be doomed to obesity for life. Not after all I've been through
Just a word of advice:
Don't use your real name here. Surgeons read the boards and may be reluctant to take your case if they know that you have gone on a public forum and complained about another surgeon.
I'm a nurse, I know.
Not saying that you are wrong to complain, just don't use your real name here.
Best of luck to you,
Dr. Anderson and Dr. Balder at Advanced Surgical Associates have done many revisions - some where the MGB loop gastric was done and other were the VBG and older non-disected RNY were done. they would have to do a EGD to see what is your current status but they more than likely could fix it. Call them if you want - 843.347.3900, ask for sue.
