Very Upset

I just got a letter from Dr. Sabback's office. It says that since Trident has decided to suspend it's surgeries ( don't know if this means the 90 day suspension as earlier or did they decided to stop all together) Dr. Sabback is no longer scheduling any further surgeries. I have to call because as I know it, my insurance doesn't cover Trident Hospital and I told Dr. Sabback that in the beginning. The office said that he could do the surgery at Roper where my insurance will cover. So now it might look like I have to switch doctors. I should have done this long ago. Well thanks for listening to my ranting. Wendy Fowler

Hi Wendy, I was also seeing Dr. Sabback i called yesterday to find out if i was approved from my insurance (which they said they sent off over a month ago) now they are telling me they didnt send it in at all because they dont know if they will be able to contiune bastric bypass due to no other hospitals will let him start doing it at their hospitals due to costing to much money for them to get involved....

call advanced surgical associates at 843-347-3900 and speak with sue. she will work with you to get the records from sabback and speed the process along so you can have surgery in the very near future. sue is currently working with at least a dozen of sabbacks patients and two have already been scheduled for surgery in less than 2 wks. with their office. if insurance approval has not already been obtained it will take a little longer. you won't be disappointed with dr. anderson or dr. balder. both have been doing bariatric surgery for over 8yr. and have done over 600 wt. loss surgeries. 90% of the RNY gastric bypass is done laparoscopically. they also do the lap adjustible gastric band procedure.

Wendy, look at this as a blessing in disguise. There are other surgeons out there, I had my surgery in Columbia. Keep searching, do not make a mistake, it is your life. I know you want the surgery yesterday, however, have you ever stopped to think there may be a reason why you are not able to get the surgery with this particular doc? By posting this I do not mean any ill will, I am just trying to help, possibly save your life. Trish, RN
