PRE-OP APPT. AND DON'T KNOW WHAT TO ASK??????
Congrats on your surgery date!!! There are so many questions people have it is so hard to remember them all. The best thing to do is get a pen and a piece of paper and everytime you think of a question, write it down. Then take them with you to the doctor. If you forget a question, you can always call his nurse, they are more than happy to answer a question for you. As for what to take to the hospital, all I took was a robe, slippers, a toothbrush and toothpaste, a brush and underwear. And something loose to wear home. The hospital provided everything else.
Just sit back and relax! Everything will be fine. Please feel free to e-mail me with any questions you have. I will try my best to answer them.
Good luck on your journey.
Hugs,
Darlene
Hi Caryn,
First of all, congratulations! Who is doing your surgery?
You don't need a lot of things at the hospital. A robe, slippers, something to read. The only thing I regret not having is a wooden spoon and baby wipes. After surgery, it is difficult to cleanse yourself after going to the bathroom. A baby wipe wrapped around a long-handled wooden spoon works very well. I saw this tip posted after my surgery, but I did use it after I got home.
Best of luck.

Caryn,
I've done very well. My surgery date was 8/2/04, and I've lost 77 lbs!. I feel so much better. I don't have to take a nap on Sunday afternoon (but I still like to). I wear smaller clothing than I've worn since before I became pregnant with my now 16-year-old daughter. I LOVE shopping now. I try not to buy too much because my size changes so quickly. I feel like a new woman.
