Help!! I am so nauseated!!!
I am so sick and weak it feels like I have come to the end of my rope. I am five weeks post-op and have thrown up every day for the entire five weeks. I am getting no protein b/c it won't stay down. I want to be NORMAL AGAIN!!!!! I am considering talking to my doc. about reversal. I can't take much more of this throwing up. What should I do???
Hi Jeanie,
Have you talked to your doctor about this? Please call him. Have some bloodwork done to see if anything is wrong. Go to the ER if you have to. You could have a blockage.
I had the same problem and had to be readmitted ot the hospital for severe dehydration and nausea. I almost had to "insist" on being readmitted. They had to give me Phenegran by IV because I would through it up if I took it by mouth. I was in the hospital for 2 days on IV fluids. My blookwork was messed up, my chloride, potassium and blood sugar levels were low and my phosphorus levels were high. I felt better after being released but started throwing up again.
Alltogether this lasted about 5 weeks for me also and then it eased up. I started taking a Bonine before I ate when at work and a Dramamine or 1/2 of a Phenegran and this helped a lot.
Now I mostly eat foods that are easy on my stomach like chicken salad, tuna salad, soups, stews, etc. I have tried several other things but I don't eat these as often as the 4 above.
I hope you get to feeling better soon.
Take care,
Lisa G
Just an update, I went to the doctor Tuesday and he admitted me. He ran a light down my throat Wednesday and had to use a balloon to stretch the pouch opening b/c it was so small nothing was passing through. I am feeling alot better. No nausea, but now I have a sore throat. I can't win for loseing. AHHH!
