Stomach Pain - New to Board - 8 Months Post-Op
Hey everyone! I'm 8 months post-op yesterday and have lost 120 lbs. The only complication I've ever had from my surgery was a possible bowel obstruction back in March. I was hospitalized for an additional three days and whatever was wrong resolved itself as opposed to my having to have another surgery! Yippee!
Now, for the last five or so days, I've had this pain on my right side in my stomach (or where I think my old stomach is). It's right at the bottom of my rib cage, down from where I had my gallbladder out four years ago in the area I would think my old stomach was.
This pain is the same pain as I had when I had the possible bowell obstruction, however, it does not intensify to the same extremity and goes away when I eat. If I eat something, it immediately relieves it. If I lie flat back in the recliner and roll a handbell weight over my stomach repeatitively, it relieves it. I've never experienced hunger since my surgery and I don't have hunger pangs like we did before surgery. If I go without eating, my stomach hurts and I know I'm hungry. These pains are a lot more intense and recur more often than I would think hunger should. Has anyone experienced anything like this? I'm thinking maybe hernia, ulcer, etc... I appreciate your help and look forward to getting to know many of you.... Diana, Murrells Inlet
