Lexington Medical Center
Has anyone here already had their surgery done by Dr. Strickland/Dr. Givens in Lexington Medical Center? I was wondering what the rooms are like? Are they private or do you share with someone? Do they have large recliners besides having the bed? I just like to know what to expect. Thanks!!!

Connie,
Hi I recently had my surgery with Dr.Givens on June 23, and Yes the rooms are private and mine did have a recliner next to the bed. The rooms are small, but it was fine for the 2 nights that I was there. The staff there is excellent, and that is what matters the most. They were usually there asking me if I needed anything beforeI could even call them. I wish you the best with your surgery, and I hope you have a speedy recovery. I am very glad that I had this surgey, Email me if you have any more questions. Angela
I had my surgery by Dr. Strickland on March 12, 2004. I couldn't have had a better surgeon. I chose LMC because of him. As a nurse, there were some improvements that could have been done. However, overall it was a very pleasant stay. My husband stayed with me the entire time and was made to feel comfortable. I chose to stay in the recliner 95% of the time. Good luck, if you have anymore questions just let me know

Hey Connie! I had surgery under Drs Strickland and Givens March 3, 2004 at LMC. The hospital staff was great. They were always checking on me and coming by to see if I wanted to walk, if I wasnt already up doing so. Whenever I called for assistance, they responded very quickly. The rooms are private, rather small and the bed quite uncomfortable. I wish they had the bariatric beds, as well as the ones that you can stand straight up instead of struggling trying to get up out that bed. I had a recliner too.
