New and very nervous in Spartanburg!

Hey everyone, I am new to all of this and SC but love the fact that you are all out there going through the same emotions and feelings I am going through. I am scheduled to have surgery Monday 8-2-04. I now have new friends from this web site but would love to also have friends close to home. If you live in the Spartanburg SC area. I would love to hear from you. Can somebody help me out on what I need to take to the hospital and also what I need at home when I return. I cannot wait for my life to change. The thought of being thinner blows my mind. I have been waiting it seems like forever!!!!

Hi and WELCOME! Be sure to take good walking shoes that are easy to get on and off (you won't be bending well ~ LOL!) because they'll want you to stand and maybe even walk a little the day after surgery. Also, take a housecoat for the above reason and also for your swallowing test the next morning. You'll be fine. The nurses and staff on the WLS floor are top notch and super-sweet. Hello... I am not near your area.. I am in Fort Mill, SC near Charlotte, NC. I just wanted to wish you well, as I will be having my surgery on Monday Aug. 2nd. as well! So, good luck and I hope your surgery goes well and you are back home and starting your new life soon!!!! Mike

I wanted to let you know I had the library support group wrong - it's the first Tuesday of the month at 7 p.m. Sorry 'bout that - but I guess you wouldn't have been there anyway, right?!?
