Hi all. I am currently 4 weeks post-op (lap GBS) and have now completly lost my appetite! I don't even want to think about eating anything! Has anyone else experienced this? If you have, how did you deal with it? Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

Hi Sharon. Actually, I didnt really have a problem with not wanting to eat very often, but when I did (usually it was days after I had gotten sick and my pouch was still sore), I just had to go ahead and force myself to eat. I know its hard, but you have got to get that protein in, its very important. Not only will not getting the protein in cause problems with you internally, but an immediate response will be your hair falling out. If you are really having alot of trouble forcing yourself to eat, try putting any whey protein powder in some chicken broth. I know how difficult this time is, but it will get better! Just keep your chin up!

Hi Sharon! I am two weeks post op and would rather poke my eyes out than eat! I have no appetite but force myself to eat something. I don't want to see food, smell food......Carnation instant breakfast with some ice and non fat milk in the blender does the trick when I just can't eat anything. Give that a shot. Good luck! Susan
