I called a local doctor who does the surgery to get the ball rolling. I was told that I would have to fill out a quetioneer and pay a non refundable 150 dollars. I have never had a doctors office tell me this before is this something i should accept or not?

Hi, David! I'm having my surgery on 8/18 with Dr. Glen Strickland in Lexington. They required a $500 down payment on the surgery at the first appointment BUT it would have been refunded if I had not been approved. Maybe the $150 is just the appointment fee? I'd find out before I just handed it over!! Best of luck!!!! Hugs, Connie

Hello David, What you need to do is call Surgical Weight Solutions in Ft. Mill. Their number is 802-3828. Ask for Rhonda. She will set you up with an appointment for an question and answer session. This session doesnt cost anything. If you do decide to go ahead with the surgery. There is an up front fee. You will find out all about it at the initial meeting. You can do a search about Dr. Theis in this forum and I believe you will find out he is one of the most respected surgeons in the area. Call Rhonda, She is very nice and helpful. Good Luck.

Hello David. Dr. Thies did my surgery and I am very pleased with him and his staff. Sometimes the $150 is the consult fee that some insurance companies will not pay for.
