If I can't have my surgery locally I plan to have it done at Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Greenville, NC. My question is for those who have or plan to have it done there. I would need to choose another surgoen I have a few names but I was wondering who you would recommend. Also have many visits do one normally take to his office and the hospital before actually surgery. Reason why is because I live in SC and it's a 4 hour drive. Thank You..

where are you located at in SC? There are some great Dr.s here in SC. 4 hrs. is a long way to drive especially if you do not have a surgeon in mind. My suggestion is that you find the best, most experienced surgeon that is the closest to you. I am having my surgery done by Dr.Givens in Columbia, which is 1hr. and 30 min. from where I live, but I felt it was worth the drive b/c he is very experienced and a great surgeon! I know with most surgeron's there is alot of follow up visits with this surgery b/c they have to check blood work often. Dr.Givens told us that we were with him for life. After the first year they still wont to see everyone at least once a year. If you have any questions that I can help you with please email me. Angela
