Am I a Lurker? :op

Am I a lurker if I just found the SC message board? I am just in the beginning of my journey and I am going to go through Dr Rowitz (Hopefully)in Anderson, SC. Has anyone heard any pro's or con's about him? I have done a lot of research, and I really liked his informational seminar I went to. I felt he was honest and sincere and I feel he put things into easy to understand wording for those of us in the class who were not medically inclined. I am a nurse so I knew a little more than the rest. Well I just wanted to say hello...and I promise not to be a lurker from now on.

Kim, WELCOME to the SCMB -- I am glad that you found us here. I am still a pre-op waiting for a date, which SHOULD be coming in the next week or so! I had not heard about your surgeon in Anderson. I am using Dr. Eric Bour in Greenville, with Bariatric Solutions. He and his staff are absolutely the best, A-1! When selecting a surgeon it is important that you feel safe and comfortable, the staff be receptive and helpful, the surgeons death and complication rates are very important, pre- and post-op programs, and anything else that you deem important. And I am glad that you will not ONLY be a lurker -- will be great to have someone to communicate with!
