Some info please!!!

Hello all, Im in the waiting period for my insurance,(medicaid). I have been waiting for almost 4 weeks now. I had my Dr's. office to call them back and see if everything was in order and they did just that. 3 weeks and they're still in medical review. My question is this; does this long review mean that they are considering not approving me? I have spoken to so many people who has SC medicaid and they were approved within the 1st two weeks. I run home everyday to check the messages and nothing is there for me. Has anyone waited this long and has been approved. Any info on medicaid's policy for this surgery? Pleaaaaaaaaaaase reply. I have medicaid also. I would like to find out how long it takes for you to get approved...because I have faith for you that you will. Ever heard the saying the squeeky wheel gets oiled? Meaning...call them every day until you get an answer. Don't be afraid to make a nuisance of yourself. I have had it out one too many times with other state agencies only to find that my paperwork was sitting on the desk of someone that had been out sick for over a week. Keep your chin up and hopefully soon you will be on the losing side. Who are you going through for your surgery? What did medicaid require of you such as any Dr approved weight loss programs for six months? I haven't yet gone to a Dr. Consult because I have recently been approved to get medicaid. I have faith for both of us. Good luck.

Dr. Sabback is my surgeon and he has done all he can to help me. I had BCBS and they outright denied me twice. As far as I know, medicaid reqiures a letter from your PCP stating that it is medically necessary for this procedure, I guess all the responses from the pre op stuff too. thank you so much for responding.
