Insurance

I have been trying to get insurance coverage to pay for gastric bypass to no avail. My husband's job got dissolved and his new job and it look as if it might cover the surgery. The new insurance is Kanawha Healthcare Solutions. We just got our coverage and there are no pre-existing clauses so I am wanting to know how soon I should check on it. The surgeons office said I needed to call my company to make sure it covers it. Any thoughts or ideas out there would really be appreciated. Thanks, Dona

Hey Dona Girl don't wait. The sooner you know the faster you can get started with your wls....Don't be afraid to ask questions just call. When you call get the name and the time of day written down, so in case you have to refer back to it you will have it... Hope this helps Brenda

Thanks for your advice. I called and they said that it would cover but I needed to have a letter of medical necessity from my doctor. That will be no problem. Wish me luck and keep in touch. Dona
