Hi ya'all,
I am just starting my research on Laparoscopic Gastric Bypass Surgery. Can anyone tell me the difference between RNY (Open & Laparoscopic, and VBG (Open & Laparoscopic)?
Has anyone dealt with Dr. Paul Ross in Spartanburg? How was your experience with Dr. Ross? I would like to find a surgean in my area because there seem to be lot of follow up visits as far as my research has found.
I am so happy I have found this message board, and I hope ya'all don't mind if I pick your brains.
Sincerely,
Jean
Hi Jean
Dr. Ross is absolutely wonderful. He's thorough in providing the information you need to make an informed decision and he's patient with every last question you have.
Soft-spoken and gentle, he will put you completely at ease with him, his staff, and the experience as a whole. He'll treat you with dignity and concern throughout the process.
I have my surgery on Monday and have the utmost faith in his abilities.
My suggestion: absolutely go to his seminar and speak with him. I'm sure you'll come to the same conclusions.
Good luck!
Peace,
Tracy
I had my surgery with doctor ross 3 weeks ago and hes the best of the best in my opinion i love him to death hes caring and compassionate, he listens to you and has great concern over your well being . As for lap rny and vbg even doctor ross will tell you rny has a better outcome i know many who had vbg and years later had to have revisions to rny because the vbg failed a only know a few ppl who have had succesful vbg's but still they are only a few years post op.In the long run its your own personal decision on what surgery you choose but picking doctor ross is one great decision as for my lap rny 5 little incisions and hardly any pain the 1st 2 days of course was the worst pain wise but they give u a pain pump to control it and walking sure helps i walked the halls atleast 5 times a day and 1st time was 3 hrs after surgery.
