SOOOOOOOOOOO nervous

Tomorrow is my first consult with the surgeon Dr Byrne at MUSC in Charleston, SC. I am so nervous that I may not qualify for the surgery. I may be a pound or two away from the set standard of 40 BMI. Since I do not have servere co-morbidities I have some. Do you think I will still qualify for surgery.

Hi Mary, I noticed you have Tricare Prime. Tricare's manual doesn't mention BMI. They require you be 100 lbs overweight or 80 lbs with co-morbids. They do not specify which ones are severe. I had surgery August 1 through Tricare and was approved very quickly. If you have joint pain be sure to mention that and if you have young children that your weight prevents you from playing with the way you want mention that, it all helps.
