Cost
I have been to two different seminars, and both have asked for money over what the insurance will pay. One doctor here in Columbia wants $4100 to be paid before surgery. This fee is for services that they provide afterward?? My insurance will pay for the actual surgery, and these fees are holding me back. Anyone else experiencing this?
I don't know of any bariatric surgeon's ofc that doesn't require some form of a down payment or deposit. However, Dr G Strickland (with Surgical Associates in Cola, SC) only required $500.00 down payment and it is required at the first ofc vs with the MD. Most of the money went to the portion/expense that I was responsible for (copay, deductible) per my insurance policy. I was told that I would get a little more than a $100.00 refunded back to me. Hope this helps and try not to get discouraged! Marie
I went to Dr.Stricklands seminar. He wanted 500 dollars to walk in his office for the consultation and 3600 dollars before the surgery date for his programs after surgery. Have since found Dr. Allan Walls with USC. He is from Alabama. I have not met him yet but have scheduled my consultation. He accepts insurance.
Hi.. I also went to the seminar with Dr. Strickland and yes it is very expensive. Have you looked into going to Dr.Tribble or Dr. *****ett they are at the Baptist Hospital... I went to their seminar and they don't charge the up front charges like the other doctors do..They have been doing this surgery for about 2 yrs...
