I am meeting my Surgeon for the first time next Tuesday. I am a Military Dependant and will be having my surgery with Dr.Franga at Moncrief on Ft. Jackson. I will be having the VSG surgery. Is there anyone else that's a Military Dependant and had the suregery at Ft. Jackson? If so, how has the support been with Dr.Franga and the Dietitian?

Hi, Stayce.

I too am a military dependant and will be having surgery with Dr. Franga.  Although I cannot answer as to how the support is after surgery, I can say that the pre-surgery support has been great.  Last week, I met with the dietician and she seemed very informative, generous with her time, and confident in seeing others through their surgeries.
I see that your post is dated October 24 and I am responding November 17.  Perhaps you have already had your surgery or are farther along in the process than me. If so, I would love the opportunity to pick your brain as to what you  think or thought about the process and find out which support group you have joined that is close to post.
I hope to hear back from you and hope this finds you in health and happiness.

Kindest regards!

It's been a few months since your post but I wanted to find out about your journey with the VSG at Fort Jackson with Dr. Franga? I had my LapBand removed due to a dangerous slip and I'm looking at converting the the VSG but I've been waiting for Tricare to cover it. I'm at a point where I'm ready to start looking at MTFs and need help. I'm from the Charleston, SC area and desperately want to know more about Fort Jackson.

Hope you all are doing well!
