low iron

I had blood work done & wow my iron was low the dr put me on Repliva the dr said I will be an anemic for life because of surgery I was taking tender Iron but I could not get my Iron up I have been taking the meds the dr gave my for a few days & I have more engery ,I never knew Iron would efect your engery also ,& my hair was falling out so bad but that did not bother me I have thick hair now it has stopped ,now I have to retake my iron test in 4 weeks to see if it is up the dr is worried ,so if you feel so wipped out have your iron checked please ,

 I have been on Repleva for a year now and my iron is still low. I take it everyday and still feel like poop, no energy at all. I hope you have better luck with it.

OMG, Becky, I am sorry you have low iron, so do I.   I had no clue anemia or low hemoglobin could make you feel so bad. I went through my whole last pregnancy without knowing why I felt like dying, really, this time I am seeing different doctors, not MUSC like last time and they found out that it was my iron and started giving me injections, which did not not work, they do some kind of anemia screening for us gastric bypass people and can tell if the iron is absorbing and mine still was not, for the past two weeks I have been going once a week and having iron infused into my blood, the first week didn't do much and my blood only went to 7.6 and it was 7.4 before that. I go in the morning to get blood work again to see if it went up from this past friday's infusion, i think it is absorbing more now, because i am feeling a little better. being anemic is miserable to me when it is this bad. this is the worst thing i have evergone through in my life, but hopefully it will get better, if not, i know after this baby is born i will feel better, but that is a long way away, not til mid december. anyway, just wanted to share that with you. how are you besides that?
