I just ran my THIRD marathon
ok-not to brag but this is the place to say "I cannot believe"....but I did it! I ran the Delaware marathon this morning in Wilmington, my 3rd one, and my best time yet (4 hours 29 minutes).
I am 30 months out, have made some mistakes with my post-op life, gained some weight since being at goal...but never felt better! I will continue to work towards goal...but feel GREAT!!!
And it all started July 4th, 2007 when I decided to take up running-bought some sneakers and ran 7/10ths of a mile....and today I just finished running 26 miles. Its possible, its hard, but attainable-whatever your goal
And Dr Bour and staff are AWESOME. They are always there for you. I had to walk into my 2 yr appt and admit I had fallen off the wagon so to speak...and they helped me without placing blame or making me feel like an idiot
Thank you for letting me brag. Sometimes in life ya just gotta say yayyyyy me

I am also a Dr Bour patient, and have also fallen off the wagon. How did they help you when you went for your appt? I go back in Sept and am debating if I should go ahead and admitt defent and give them a call.

I go back next week for my 30 months appt. But--if I were you, I would give them a call. They know mistakes happen, we would not have had the surgery if we did not make alot of mistakes..and we are far from perfect after surgery so call Monday-ask for an appt with a nutritionist and tell them-I need help getting back on course...theres no shame, nothing to fell bad about
Think of it this way, if we never had the surgery, and were only 20lbs overweight ....we'll fall off the wagon at some point and go up to 40lbs overweight and say--oopsy, I need to diet
With Dr Bour and staff-you have professional people willing to help. Take advantage of it!!
Good luck-I hope it works out well for you

Anyway, I mentioned my hernia to him and the fact I know I need to get it repaired, but I work at St. Francis and don't want to pay out of pocket to go to Hillcrest hospital for them to do it, so his answer to me, after a long pause, was........." Gee, I honestly can't say there is any doctor that goes to your hospital that I would reccomend". He also made a snide comment about our new bariatric program that Dr. Anderson is doing, and said " good luck with it, it won't work". Well, I hate to tell him but, we have a very succesful program so far, and there is no fee attached to it.
So, as you can tell, I wan't that thrilled with the visit there this time. I hope yours goes better.
Take care and congratulations on the marathon, your awsome!!!
Hugs!
