Surgeon Recommendation

Hi, I'm from West Columbia and I've been considering Dr. Byrne at MUSC in Charleston as my surgeon.  His profile here is very impressive.  Anyone else have Dr. Byrne as their surgeon?  Any other recommendations?

Dr. Byrne preformed my gastric bypass.  He is a very good doctor.  At times his bedside manner is a little lacking.  That doesn't really bother me.  He is to the point.

The staff at MUSC is outstanding. 

Good luck to you.  I don't believe that choosing Dr. Byrne would be a bad choice at all.  You will love him and his accent.

I used Dr. Strickland with Riverside Surgical Group at Lexington Medical Center in Columbia. They have received their 2nd center of excel lance award. MUSC is a good facility but you have to think of driving to Charleston to get your fills.

I have to drive 2 hours to get my fill. My insurance would not pay for MUSC because they were not the top facility in SC.

Dr. Byrne did my best friends surgery, so you can't go wrong with him either. I just know from my experience, having to drive every 6 weeks for a fill gets old real quick.

Dr. Strickland is AWESOME!!!

I only commented on Dr. Byrne because she asked about him.  I can certaninly understand not wanting to drive from Cola. to Chas. every 6 weeks.

Thanks for both of your responses! I very much appreciate it.  I was looking over my insurance and it turns out that Dr. Strickland is in my network for approved surgeons.  I believe I will be choosing him as my surgeon.  In the end, it will be more convenient for me being closer by.

That is great. All three of the surgeons are good. There is just something about Dr. Strickland that makes you feel special. Keep me posted on your progress.

Thanks! I contacted Dr. Strickland's office yesterday and set up to go to the initial seminar tomorrow night.  I'm excited!

Dr. Byrne is the best ! He did my friends surgery and he is going to do mine as soon as i get financing . i have already had all of my required work-up and appt's. Dr. Byrne and that facility is FIRST CLASS !!!!!!!
