Dr. Rowitz (Hospital Question)

Do you know if you have to pay your out-of-pocket exspence before the surgery or do they bill you later. I have met my deductable (all but $150) and am wondering if ill need this money before hand. I have herd that the hospital does ask for it. However whhen I called I did not get a strait answer.

Most Hospitals require you to pay whatever your insurance does not cover, or at least a portion of it.
If your surgery was say, 25,000 and your insurance only covered 10,000 then they would ask for the 15,000 upfront or a portion of it, usually 20-80%.
