For those of you in need of program help "even Medicaid patients" there is a company called CARE CREDIT I started using them for some dental work then used them when my dog had to have an emergency C-Section and then used them again to help pay program fees. You need to see if your Dr of choice takes care credit or you can visit their web site and see who they have that accepts. There are at least two different programs one is for general and any Dr who takes credit cards can accept it and the other is just for BWLS. Just a thought!

Some of the bariatric surgeons require you pay a program fee to start the surgery process. One I went to wanted a 2000 dollar fee. I just can't afford it and thought if I have insurance that pays most of the surgery why would I want to pay a fee that is no covered by insurance. But that is just me. I checked around. I found out that not all centers charge that program fee. I guess it is your own preference but I just can't see paying it when there are wonderful other groups that allow you to keep that fee in your pocket to use elsewhere and offer the same support and post op following. Like I said it is just a personal choice.

I called Dr. *****ett and Dr. Tribble's office today. They do charge a program fee of $500, the lady said it is $250 at your first appointment and the other $250 2 weeks before your surgery... I hope this helps some of you. I think I can manage that ... $2000 on the other hand is way to much!

yes that is what I paid when I got my RealizeBand. It's well worth it because the care that you get in that office from Ms. Judy is out of this world.

I'm with you. It doesn't make any sense to me to have to pay a fee like that, when there's a doc in another town/county whatever that is just as qualified and doesn't charge any extra fees.
