Wow this board sure has gotten active

The last time I checked this board posts were several weeks old.

I am Rita and I live near Anderson.  I had the Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy  August 28 in Columbia by Dr Glen Strickland.

How are you?  

I mostly stay on the VGS board now.  The main board got to be so unfriendly it was too much of a hassle having to watch every word.

My husband works in Laurens.

Where does he work?.......Laurens is starting to grow  some.....the new super store wally world and we are getting a few new stores around that area..

He works at the Walmart Distribution Center. 

It really is growing.  I went into Laurens a couple of weeks ago when I went for my check up in Columbia.  I usually just go through Wattsville and hit the interstate to 26.

My younger sister and brother works at the distribution center too.    I did years ago..when it first opened.

I am researching information about the VSG.  I have checked about a suregon in Mexico a Dr. Alvarez.  But I live here in South Carolina and still looking for somene closer.  Yes I have found some but on their website that dont put how much it cost.  Does anyone have and pricing information.  I know I shouldnt put a price on my life.  But when you only have so much money and want to have this done it's hard.

Any ideas?  Please Help!!!

Hi,
I went to Dr Strickland in Columbia and I highly recommend him.  I wanted a Dr that was going to be close if anything went wrong. 

I love my VSG.  I did a lot of research on all of the surgeries and felt that it was the best choice for me.  I liked that there were less complications than the others.  Once you heal you are pretty much done.

It was 17,500 + 4800 for a Vena Cava Filter to prevent blood clots.  Not everyone has to have the filter.
