I have a confession..

I'm in the final phase of my Optifast diet.  My surgery date is next Tuesday, October 14th.  I feel really bad now for doing it, but I cheated this past weekend and had breakfast out with my family and pizza the same night for dinner.  I lost all that  I was required to lose over the four weeks in my first week (6 pounds), and have lost 4 more since.  My last weigh in will be this Thursday, but I feel soooo guilty.

Have any of you guys feel off the wagon during this phase?  I guess I looked at it like, well, this will be the last time...for a long time, that I'll be able to eat out with my family, and the last time I could enjoy my weakness...pizza.

Anyway, I just needed to confess my "sins".

Take care!

4 weeks is a long time... I think most of us cheeted once or 2 times.  The most important is for you now not to cheet.  You have the surgery in 1 week so the closer you get to it - cheeting will be more dangerous.  It is not worth the possible complications.  You had some food you craved, now it is the real time... get ready... set... go!

Do not worry too much, just do not use that as an excuse to do more of.  The last week is important.
Best luck!!!

You know...this sounds terrible, but I actually thought about cheating once more this Friday and enjoy some Mexican.  I just don't want anything lurking around in my intestines that would frame me...you know what I mean?  What do you guys think?  Should I be ok to eat Mexican on Friday if surgery is the next Tuesday?

Any advise (encouragement)  will be great!

I was on Optifast on my birthday and I spent the entire day cheating :( I even had more than one piece of birthday cake. I know that sounds horrible but I think that we all cheat some on the diet.

LOL! Don't feel too guilty about it, I think most of us cheated at least once during the pre-op phase. I did great the whole 4 weeks but the Friday and Saturday before my surgery, I treated myself to my favorite meal(s)of BBQ and Mexican. It was also my granddaughter and husbands birthdays' so I also had some cake and icecream that weekend.  LIke you, I knew that I wouldn't be able to enjoy those foods for a long time or maybe even never again, so I splurged but  I found out real fast that my stomach had shrunk up and I couldn't eat much food at all.
If that is the only time you cheated then pat yourself on the back and finally, get yourself back on track without worrying about it, you will do fine.

Hugs!

Go for it.  And enjoy it. You will have a rough few days ahead of you, after surgery, so go...have fun...
