I have tried to lose weight to get under 400 since my daughter was born 5 years ago and I am now at 394.  I am so greatful for this surgery.  Now if I could just stop being afraid to eat.

Congratulations!!! When did you have the surgery? I had mine in April and I'm down from 430 to 364 and I'm loving it. Now a shopping trip is not so bad anymore, especially with my back. I'm actually weighing less than I did when I had my son 5 years ago.

Don't be afraid to eat. I was like that too at first. I was afraid that I would eat the wrong thing or it wouldn't taste good, but I've learned how to handle it. I'm steadily losing, but I just need to focus on exercise. I at least get a little because of where I work. I have no choice but to walk.

Good Luck!
Misha

Hi,
I had my surgery on Sept. 8th.  I think all the weight is coming from my legs because I now have ankles.

Ok, that is wonderful. So have you had any complications yet? I first noticed the change in my lower stomach. Its resting on my lap more now that I'm losing and the upper part of my stomach is going down but not enough to notice. I don't understand why, maybe its from the scar tissue or something. Who knows! All I know is that I'm losing and hopefully the rest will soon follow. I also realize I'm jiggly more too since I lost the weight. I got almost a year to go before I can even consider any reconstructive surgery to get rid of the excess skin.

I am SO happy for you!  Don't be afraid to eat.  I know that feeling but if you don't try some things, you'll be so tired of what you're eating you won't get enough calories.  I found out through trial and (mostly) error that I completely stall unless I get enough food in.  It feels wrong but it's true.
