Any Support Groups in Anderson???

My dad has a friend that had his surgery way back in 1999 so I was wondering if there are any support groups in Anderson that he could get in to?

I Dr Rowitz office has a support group. I don 't know how active they are. I have been thinking about checking into it.

Support groups are an important part of postoperative obesity surgery care. The bariatric medical literature has shown that participation in a support group leads to more effective and longer lasting weight loss. Our gastric bypass support group generally meets on the first Thursday of each month at the AnMed Health Campus in Anderson South Carolina, although occasionally this may change to accommodate guest speakers or holidays. Everyone is welcome to attend, especially patients considering weight loss surgery, patients awaiting surgery, postoperative patients, and friends/family.
