Optifast 800 vs Muscle Milk Lite

This question is for any of you guys that are on or have been on the pre-surgery diet and used Muscle Milk Lite rather than the Optifast 800.  If any have used the Muscle Milk, I was wondering what was your opinion of the product?

I've read some reviews of the product on their site, but saw nothing where it was used as a pre-surgery supplement for weight loss surgery.

Any advise would be great and much appreciated.  If it works as well as Optifast...why not save myself a few dollars, right?

Take care!

Wanda

I didnt have to do a liquid diet pre-op, but when I came home from the hospital I used Muscle Milk. I think it tastes great (Chocolate), but it wasnt the Lite. It was just regular Muscle Milk.

Hi Wanda,  I tried both Muscle Milk Light and Unjury the second week of the presurgery diet, but I did not like either of them as well as the Optifast.  My best advice would be to try one before you buy too many.   Good luck with your surgery...you'll be on the loser's bench in no time.  Melissa

I used  a combination of Muscle Milk Lite and Opti fast    I used the MML 2 a day and optifast 3 times a day.   And it worked out good for my pocket book.  I used the optifast soups.  It seemed like a meal.   and it saved a lot.  barbara

I used mostly Muscle Milk with some Optifast and Optifast soups.  (saved $$).
I used the regular one and made sure i only used 1/2 package.  Stay away form the Moccha - has coffeine.
You can buy them in Vit Soppe (at Greenridge)  and the Lite Chocolate in Costco. (I just got some a few days ago).

All of them were very, very sweet (to me), but they use splenda, so it was OK.  Could drink them with a decaff coffe + ice.  (made a great ice coffee).  Try the lite, I think it is not as sweet.

You will be able to drink it post-op if you have some left.

I used MML, the dark chocolate flavor pre-op and
had to thin it out a little bit for my tastes, but otherwise
was much more pleased with it than the optifast stuff.
I bought my containers on Amazon and paid less
than $21 for the 1.65 pound package.  I liked the
dark chocolate best b/c it wasn't quite as sweet as
the others.  The banana creme was my second fav.
I found 3 MML shakes with added skim milk were
perfect for me during the pre-op diet stage.
