Been a long time...but in need of support
Hi everyone! It has been a long time in posting and you will not remember me but I had bypass 2 years ago. I started at 320...last summer down to 197 and now....up to 217 :( I have a blood clotting disorder that requires me to be on coumadin for the rest of my life. I live in Walterboro and drive to Charleston every week for blood work and dr visits. Well, I have had the severe cramping, heavy menstrual cycle, back aches, etc and the hemo suggested I go see the ob/gyn. I did and he found that I have uterine fibroids. He says I need a hysterectomy but is afraid b/c of blood clots. Now I consult with the hemo tomorrow and u/s on the 24th and then they will tell me if I will have surgery. The bad part is I can never have hormones so lupron is out and the fibroids are only going to get bigger. So my thing is why wait?! I am 37 and I rather do this now while I am younger and healthier. Argh...drs! I just hate the wait and see. Also, I have gained weight during the winter months. Well, just this w/end I have lost 2 lbs due to the fact I can not eat b/c of the heat. I went to a cookout last night. I ate just a small amount and I threw up from 7 till 1 this am! As long as I eat cold fruit...especially pineapple and bananna I am ok. So I guess I will be living on protein smoothies this summer!! Any good recipes?? thanks in advance...
Wendy
Hi Wendy. Boy, you have been through a lot. I am very limited on my protein recipies, but wanted to tell you to take care and you will be in my thoughts and prayers.
Oh, one thing I do is use a chocolate protein drink with ice and water and add a teaspoon of peanut butter - YUM. I sometime add a banana too for potassium.
