Old account/New problem

I found my old account and have logged in under it now. I am glad that I found my way back here. For the past two years and especially the last year, I have been drinking heavily. You know, the old transfer addiciton thing. Last week, I made positive steps to make my life healthier. I started to AA last Wednesday and have learned so much about why we do the things that we do to ourselves. I had regained 30 pounds due to the alcohol. Hopefully now with the proper diet and exercise, that will come off. We are going to Myrtle Beach to camp at Ocean Lakes Friday and will be there for 10 days. I plan long walks on the beach and reflecting on the things that got me into the desperate situation that I was in. Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers. Any words of wisdom will be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like rest and reflection are a very good idea. I'm glad you got help. Stay strong. Remember with God all things are possible. P&PT's

That is one of the teachings at AA. You cannot do it without God's help.

someone very close to me has this addiction transfer as well.. and it kills me! I hope that one day they will find the courage to realize they have a problem and step up to the plate and seek help for it like you have! You are taking an amazing step towards recovery and im very proud of you!

This is very true. It's better to avoid it all together.
