Home with some questions
I got to come home yesterday and I am feeling pretty ok considering I just had major surgery. The only thing is that I feel like I can drink alot and I don't feel full. I have been trying to stick to the 4oz. per hour though because I don't want to hurt myself but at the hospital I heard other people talking about how full they felt and I just don't feel full. Has anyone else felt this way? I don't feel hungry but I am not getting that little trigger that says ok you need to stop now like I thought I would get.
Hi Jess,
I never had the feeling of fullness either. It took me almost a year before I started feeling full. I asked many people about this and they never experienced it. Just be careful so you don't get sick from eating more than you should since you have no trigger. Good luck on your journey and keep us posted.

I'm a little further out than you, but I also had that same feeling. It took a while for the "feeling" to come back. You're doing fine. Get yourself some sugar-free jello and some sugar free popcycles. Also the chicken broth helps. I couldn't wait till I could move up to puddings & stuff. Just be glad that the clear liquids are only for a week. Good luck on your journey! Don't try to force anything, just listen to your NUT and do what they say and you'll do fine.
Congrats on being on the loser's bench...I know you've waited for a few months! Glad to hear you are doing well. Hang in there. I had a slight full sensation when I ate pudding..but not liquids..like broth, or water, or crystal light. Everyone is different.. Just be careful not to "over" drink.
Take one day at a time!

Hey Jess! Hope you are doing good. I wanted to let you know that I am alway thirsty. When I came home I was able to start with the puree foods. I always feel thirsty. I drink lots of water, I just feel that I am still not getting enough. I do know that when I eat soups that is just liquid I some times feel full and other times I don't. Just wanted to say best to you and welcome to the losers bench! I am a little over 2 weeks out and I have lost about 20lbs.
Hi Jess
Welcome to your new life. I am glad things went well for you. When I came home-I never felt the fullness either. I don't know if I ever have and I am 18 months out. If you just stick to what they tell you to, its going to be fine. I thought in the first weeks I did not feel full because it was liquid, and liquids go straight thru. They don't fill up the pouch like food would. I don't know-just my thought
But congratulations. If you do what they tell you to do-you'll do great and the pounds will start falling away

Hey Jess, glad to know your doing good. I know everyone is different, but I was the same way and 18 months later, I still don't get that "full" sensation like I thought I would. I have to be really careful eating because if I do eat too much I get a sick feeling, almost like dumping, and my food will start to stick and not go down. Be sure to measure everything and you should be OK. Can't wait to see your weight loss progress over the next few months, it's exciting for all of us seeing the neebies getting skinny, lol. Congratulations on being a LOSER!
Hugs!

Thanks everyone :) I had a really bad day yesterday I felt like I didn't even have the energy to get up. Today is slightly better I have forced myself out of bed and I walked 10 minutes on the Treadmill. I still feel so so weak though and I really hate feeling like I have lost all of my energy, I can deal with the pain I just want my energy back :(
You will have good and bad energy days. Part of it will be due to the protein intake you get in as well as the surgery. If you dont get your protein in you will feel totally washed out. Also, make sure even though you dont have the "trigger" you keep sipping constantly on fluids, with the temperatures rising outside, you dont want to get dehydrated. That too will drain your energy. Good luck on your new road to weight loss.
I totally understand about the energy thing. I didn't have much trouble at all from my surgery. My problem was that I felt like I could get back to normal. I walked for about a mile in the neighborhood when I was 1 week post-op. I made it, but I was totally washed out for the rest of the day. I learned that there was a lot of things I wanted to do, but I had to wait a little for my stamina to come back. Remember, you just had major surgery, your body is still in shock. Give it a little more time. I just walked over a mile and ha half on the treadmill today and felt fine.
