I HAVEN'T HAD SURGERY YET, BUT I BOUGHT A COUPLE OF DIFFERENT THINGS TO TRY THIS WEEK BASED ON THE ADVICE OF MY NUTRITIONIST.  NECTAR PROTEIN IS PRETTY GOOD.   ALSO, THERE IS A DRINK CALLED ISOPURE LIQUID THAT MY DOCTOR'S OFFICE GAVE US SAMPLES OF AND IT TASTE SORT OF LIKE GATORADE.  UNJURY ISN'T TOO BAD EITHER.  THOSE ARE JUST A FEW THAT I HAVE TRIED AND LIKED.  I HOPE THAT HELPS.  MELISSA

I buy the gallon size powder in jug at walmart, i switch between chocolate and vanilla, mix a scoop with 2% milk in the blender. It is pretty good actually.

One thing to keep in mind is, your taste will more than likely change after surgery, as almost everyone I have ever talked to has had it happen, including me. After 18 months it is finally starting to get back to normal. I made the misstake of buying up a lot of protein mix before surgery and unfortunetly, I wasn't able to tolerate any of it, including the unflavored unjury...yeah right, unflavored my butt, it was horrible  . I chose to use prostat liquid because I felt it was better to quickly down a couple of ounces several times a day and get it over with than, tolerate everything I mixed up tasting like poo. Everyone is different but I still wouldn't advise spending a lot of money on products just to dump them out or give them away. What taste great now might make you want to lick your own butt to get the taste out, lol, sorry, it's the best way to describe how most of them taste. Good luck finding one you like, I still have problems finding one that isn't too sweet or nasty.    Vomit Take care! Mary

I am almost 9 months our of surgery and have discovered GNC Metabolic Whey Protein 60. I just use one scoop but it is awesome!  However, I also just ran out of it today and bought the Walmart brand, Body Fortress after doing research and comparing them online.  LOVED the GNC product, not sure HOW the walmart brand will taste! ~Melissa

I use and like the pure protein shakes. I ususally by them at Vitamin shope because that is the cheapest place I can find them.  YOur taste do change....so beware.  If you have some friends in a support group..where you all can taste different ones that would be great.  Prior to surgery...my dr. office let us try different ones so I kinda had an idea which one I liked and did not like. It's trial and error! Angela

Hey, They best one I found was the Slim Fast one for low carb diets.....20 grams of protein per can. Slim Fast makes several different ones but you have to find the right one with low carbs and no sugar. I bought them at Sams Club. You get a 12 pack for under $15. I could not find a smaller pack to try before I bought 12 but my cousin just had surgery 2.5 months ago and found the 4-pack at Walmart this week, but it is about $6 for 4. I had a bad problem with being able to taste the protein in bars and shakes and these were good to me. They will also curb any sweet cravings. Tina Z
