Need Disney Advice...Chris/Jen...I know you 2 know!!!
I am trying to plan a trip to Disney in November around my Birthday which is the 10th.
I plan on being down there at least that whole week.
My question is...since I want to do everything...which I do understand...I won't be able to do everything...how much time should I plan for certain places. What type of ticket should I buy?
I want to go to:
Epcot 1 day?
Disney 3 days?
Universal 2 days?
SeaWorld 1 day?
Thanks in advance for your help guys!!

I love disney vacations..
Here is my thoughts..
"disney" is made up of 4 parks:
Epcot- which can be done in one day
Magic Kingdom-you can also do this in one day, if you get there way early or use the "Magic hours" Day if you are staying at a disney hotel (you get extra hours in the park after it closes or before it opens! this works really well for the animal kingdom since it closes daily at like 5 i think)
Animal Kingdom- a MUST i LOVED This park. it has a safari that you actually feel like you are in africa! lol this would be a good park to do morning -5 then use the "park hopper" option to swap over to magic kingdom and finish what you didn't get to before, or see the firework show etc)
And MGM which is now called Hollywood or something! - Of all of the parks, I would skip this one if I were going right now. It's cool it has movie sets and stuff, and cool 3-D shows that crack you up, and stuff like that! If youve never been, go for sure.
Then you have Universal Studios, which has 2 parks
Universal- which is good, I haven't been there in a few years though
and Islands of Adventure- which is really based for older children but is a cool almost like carowinds place with not as many roller coasters..
The tickets can be VERY Expensive.. but it is cheaper in the long run if you buy like 7 days disney tickets with the park hopper option, and NO Expiration.. that way if you go back to disney in 5 years, you can use the left over days then at no charge.. but you have to make sure you ask for no expiration.. which is like 10 bucks extra i think?
Sea World is awesome- if you go one day and get your ticket stamped you get the next day free.. which can come in handy if you miss some of the shows, bc the shows are the best part..
In my opinion, for the KIDS , the best parks are Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, & Sea World if I had to chose between all of them. Because Like I said, it can get very expensive fast.. and the food in the parks is outrageous.. lol.. they actually allow you to take in a small cooler with food if you want to save some money there..
I have stayed at all types of the disney resorts, and when I stayed at one of their Value resorts (cheaper) We loved it just as much if not more than the rest!! We stayed at Disney's Pop Culture, it was in November and was only like 600 bucks for a whole week. And you get the magic hours at the parks and free transportation to and from the parks etc.. PM me if you need to know anything else!

November is a GREAT time for Disney, with Thanksgiving week being the busiest. The weeek after Thankgiving week is real slow
In the 9 times we've been there in the last 6 yrs, we have never done Universal or Sea World. My daughters now 8 and 11 have always been happy with just Disney
Staying on the grounds of Disney is the best choice, maybe alittle more expensive but worth the bus ride to the hotel, the extra magic hours, the convenience. We stay at the Pop Century resort-in Nov its probably around $100-119/night. We've NEVER bought the dining package-the kids don't eat that much-I don't of course...just not worth it
7/day park HOPPER a MUST. Don't get the water park option --we go 1 day during our stay and its cheaper that way. No expiration will make it cheaper too. The park hopper will give you the freedom to go to all the parks, with Animal Kingdom open till about 5pm and going to another park after that. Animal Kingdom is GREAT-but small, you can get it done in one day. Magic Kingdom is the classic place to go of course.
Even though my kids are 8 and 11, we still rent a stroller everyday we are there. Going into the parks by 10am and not leaving till midnight makes for tired little girls, by pushing them around alot it makes them last longer thru the whole week and that makes it more enjoyable for us...and you can put all your bags and such on the stroller instead of lugging it all around
We always eat breakfast in the hotel room, pop tarts, cereal and milk (we bring a big igloo cooler). Into the parks they let you bring a carry over the shoulder bag, which we pack with snacks (gummys, small packs of cookies, etc) and 4 bottles of water. I bring crystal light on the go little packets. At lunch/dinner I get a water and put it in there. The snacks and bottled water will save you alot too.
On the wat down-we drive-we stop at the St Augustine outlet mall-exit 318-on 95. On the mall on the left side of 95 there is a "Disney Character Outlet", with Disney merchandise discounted. We let our girls souvenier shop here, saving about 50% of what they would buy in the parks
I'm sure I have more tips-email me anytime with questions. Have a GREAT time-its a wonderful place
Chris
Hey there!
A GREAT resource is TourGuideMike.com. It costs money to get access, but he gives you charts of the best days to visit the various parks and WHY! If he doesn't recommend a park on a particular day he tells you why. There are also a TON of other tips and tricks on his site. Regular price is $21.95, but if you follow this link: http://www.tourguidemike.com/index.asp?promoCode=AG9MF-AQ#TG M-home, you can get $3 off. The best day charts are worth the price alone! There's a forum there where you can ask questions and post your plans and itinerary and get feedback on it. I can't wait until we're only a seven hour drive from WDW!! That'll be SO cool! We currently have to drive approximately 20 hours to get to DisneyLAND in California!
Hope that helps! ~Annie
