Ok went back to my Surgen last thursday , he removed the rest of the staples & the 2nd & last drain,. He & the Nurse said everything really looked good, he also said to start useing "mederma" was really happy to get those staples out if for no other reason I can now take a SHOWER !!!Really though they were starting to itch so bad & you could not  scratch them either !! I'll try& get some new pics up this week . I do have a question for yall though, how long should i wait before getting in a tanning bed? Will the tanning bed help or hurt the scar? Thanks  Allen

Allen, I am a certified in tanning and I would defiantly tell you to wait.  It is recommended to wait 6 months to a year before tanning after any surgery.  But if you wait 3 or so months and cover your scar when you tan I think you would be fine.  It has been about 3 years since I worked in this field but unless something has changed I think my information is still correct.  Glad everything is going well for you.

My PS said to wait a year before tanning. There is no way I will go through summer looking like a ghost with my lily white everything. I am 6 months out from my lower body lift and breast lift, so I plan on covering up my scars and at least getting the rest of me tan. I have my own tanning bed so I can take it slow and not risk getting burned. I say as long as you cover your scars it shouldn't hurt, just don't over do it and keep in mind if your taking certain medications they can affect the way you tan and your more likely to burn. Good luck! Mary

I have been tanning.. I use the "Australian Gold 30 SPF Stick" that they sell at the tanning bed, for use of face, tattoos, and scars.. It works well! I have a white line over all my incisions where that area is not getting tanned from using the stick. My scars have not darkened either. Just make sure you either cover them up well, or use this sunscreen EVERY time.

Jenn I knew, I just knew you had been in the sun or tanning bed and I was hoping you would comment !I said to myself, she went on a cruise & that was after her PS , ya just know she did not go on a cruise looking white & covering up what she had worked so had to get !!!The pic in your avartar you are very dark & have a heathy looking glow about ya . I also perved your 2 month post op pics & I see the area's in some of the pics were the sun screen sticck has been . Its been so long since i have even felt comfy enough to take my shirt off around anybody & now I want to be able to at least take it off while cutting grass or fishing & not worry about who shows up & wont have to keep a shirt in my pocket to put on lmao I wanna show off damn it !!  I called the tanning place yesterday & got a 3 month price . I am not sure how I will do it though or even if I will go tan at all . If I do Heck I cant see what it could hurt if I wear my under wear & a short pair of shorts, use the stick sunscreen on the dog ear on the sides . With all that being said lol Yeah I prolly end up going at least with shorts on . thanks so much  Allen
