Had my scope done today and a biopsy. It's not an ulcer. They did a biopsy and will know more on the 24th. First thing I asked was it cancer. Biopsy scares me and first thing to mind is cancer. They said no cancer and it wasn't even a thought. They told Rich they think it's "Malabsorbtion" whatever that is. He SAYS it's caused from drinking too much coffee but that's not possible because I don't drink a lot of coffee. However I'm hooked on Starbucks. But that's something recent. Let's just pray it's nothing too serious and I overcome this sooner than later.

Well whatever it is we will keep you in our thoughts,, I drink alot of coffee and I am just wired half the time..... Malabsorbtion is what your body doesnt absorb when you eat, it is  said the RNY patient in the beggining only absorb about 60-80 percent of what you eat..... this also goes for drugs and so on ...anyhow stand strong and let us know.....ron

I would think with them doing a biopsy and saying its not likely to be cancer, that they are checking for the h.p. pylori.. Since it is an enzyme or something that prevents absorption or something.. which can cause malnutrition.. And I think its treatable with antibiotics or something.. *Im trying to stay positive for you!* LOL  let us know ASAP What you find out! I'm praying for good things! *as i drink my coffee! lol*

p.s.. main reason I say that is because my doc does endoscopy's before he operates to check for this, he biopsy's for it specifically since its known to aid in malabsorption.. Every patient , including me, which i hope to never have this done ever again, had this done LOL Hope this helps!
