Each surgeon is different,  I had my surgery on 3/18 and got my drain and staples removed on 4/2  15 days.  I had staples in each of my incessions they did for lap.  so I guess around 12-15  days is normal  8 doesn't seem like long enough..

opps Barbara, i should have said after a Tummy Tuck how long before the drains & staples come out ,....like you said, each Dr. is different because after the LAP RNY they removed the drain before i came home ....seemed like it was 2 weeks when he took my staples out that time though....I just know I am tired of these 123 staples hanging up on everything & pulling !!

well.. they took mine out 4 days after surgery!!! LOL Which might be why i busted open 10 days post op.. but they said that was their normal time frame, around 5 days..  If i would go back in time, i would have requested 8-10 days removal.. so you should probably get them out then. the drains, probably 1 will come out.. if youre still draining much though then not.. usually less than 30 cc's in a day is warranted for removal.. but you don't want them out too soon or they'll have to use a big needle to drain your stomach. ouch. good luck!

Thanks Jenn! I go to see him @ 945 this morning & was just wondering what to expect. I am getting about 20 cc combined, sometimes as little as 10 cc's combined.  I am glad to be going back today , the staples , even though they do not look or feel infected at all, they are red in places that they werent when i left the hospital.I really think the red is healing more so than anything else BUT I will feel better once he see's it.After seeing what happened to you I am in NO HURRY at ALL to have them removed , although they do seem to hang up on the waist band & anything thing else that get near them . I will make a new post when i get back home , I really wish I had found this place when I had my RNY surgery !!  allen

I was wondering how your experience was with the plastic surgeon you chose? I will be having a LBL May 26 and would love to hear any experiences with SC doctors.

A Dr. Strickland's Partner , Dr. Antonetti did my Tummy Tuck, It looks great I think , least compared to how it looked before lol . Dr Antonetti told me that he would only do a Tummy Tuck, any other plastic I wanted he would refer me to one of his Buddys that did good work. I just got back from the Dr. 8 days since the TT , he removed every other staple & took one of the JP's out , I was hoping for everything to be out lol but I settle for 1/2 I guess. I asked for more pain pills & he said no problem & when i got them filled, he had cut the strenth in 1/2 !!  Sneaky (*&%@%  but gawd I love that man,and no I aint gay either LMAO !! Also Sophie I plan on posting some before & after pics of the Tummy Tuck . When I was deciding on letting Antonetti do the TT or get a Plastic surgen, I looked & looked for pics of guys to see how they looked afterwards & could not find any , So I'll post mine

I just wanted to say hello, and let you know that Dr. Strickland did my surgery(GPB) last week (4/29) and I had nothing but a wonderful experience with him. I was wondering what is LBL? If you have any specific questions I'll be glad to answer them. Best of luck.
