I am a newbie to this forum.  I just had surgery 3/5/08 and have really started to get plugged into this website.  I was wondering if there are any good support groups around the Charleston area.  I would love to meet people who have been through the same thing.  Look forward to hearing from my fellow South Carolinians.  Kris

Hi Kris, Welcome to the board. I'm Tanya and I had my surgery April 9th 07' I'm almost 1 year out. Doesn't seem like that long at all tho. I've passed both mine and Dr Morgan's goal and don't need to lose anymore. Congrats on your surgery and welcome to the losing side of the bench. We do have a good support group "LCBB" and we should be starting our meetings back up shortly.

I am from the Midlands & they do have a support in columbia but I never attened any of the meetings( other than the one the Dr. Antonetti required) even though I should have. Congrats on your new life !! You will not beleive how fast the weight will come off & it wont be long at all before people will look at you kinda strange , strange because they are trying to figure out who you are !!! I have had to learn that people you know & have not seen in a few years ,if you plan on them speaking, you best speak first because MOST will not know who you are !!!! enough gabbing, keep your head up, walk as much as possable & enjoy the new YOU !!! Allen
