Hey Jen,  I was pre-approve RNY and went thru with the surgery.  After a couple of months I was getting bills, so I called the ins co and was told it wasn't covered.  I had my letter of approval and she needed my approval #.  That would really suck and I guess they would just have to take my state taxes for the rest of my life, LOL.  You look fab by the way and good luck!!!

Their wording sucks - and they do it on purpose - my "approval" for GB said it was determined to be medically necessary and eligible for reimburement.  But... further down it said it was not a guarantee of payment and benefit determination cannot be made until the claim is received in their office.   WTF - its like go ahead have the surgery, sucker... we'll get you when there's nothing you can do.   Kinda like insurance companies will pay for a man's viagra but not a women's birth control - IDIOTS
