Only a few more days to go
I only have a few more day until my surgery. Feb 1st is the day that i will begin to get my helath back into control. How long does it take to start feeling better after the surgery. I need to get back to work as soon as possible, but i work 12 hours shifts as a nurse and I am hoping that it wont be hard to get back into the grove of things. Wish me luck. Anne
Good luck with your surgery. I had mine on October 31, 2006 and went back to work on November 17th. I also worked 12 hour shifts at the hospital and had no problems working those long hours. I would have went back sooner, but I had some problems with my O2 sats dropping dangerously low during and right after surgery (40 -70), so I went home on O2 just to be on the safe side. I only used my O2 for one week post-op and my sats returned to 98-100. I haven't had any problems with it since then and just had a TT/BL on October 25, 2007. Just take it easy and don't push yourself too hard at work, I'm sure everyone will be understanding and hopefully will help you out for a couple of weeks.
Take care and keep us posted.
Hugs!

We will all be thinking about you and you will be in my thoughts and prayers. I agree with Mary, you should be fine after 2 weeks, but take it slow and easy....I am sure everyone will understand. I had a TT/BL on 1/11 and today is my first day back at work. For some reason I am feeling a little more tired with this surgery...thinking it is the 5-1/2 hours under anesthesia...but I too will take it slow and easy and think things will be fine! You will have lots of emotions in the next few days. Just hang in there and soon we will be telling you welcome to the losing side!
