Well I did it!

I went and had my hair colored today, not sure if I like it or not. It definetly wasn't the color I was expecting or that we decided on before she started. It was suppose to be a medium blonde and this is not even close to blonde, it's a dark auburn. She kept saying that the gray would be resistant to the hair color and that some would remain showing, well........... not really true. My gray tends to soak up hair color, yes there are a few places that you can see light red and a couple of spots on the sides that  still have a few grays showing, but all in all it's dark auburn all over. I think she was surprised at how it turned out too. She told me the color she was using wouldn't put any red in so it won't turn brassy, lol, hell it's all red. I'm going to see the reaction from DH and DD and if their faces say something different than whats coming out of their mouths, then Ms. Clairol here I come. I will get it blonde somehow, lol. Maybe I just have to take a couple of days to get use to it, after all my hair was almost white, I don't know right now what to think, it's just shocking to look at. OK, I'm going to go and wait for DH to get home and wait for the verdict. I will see my daughter tomorrow, I know she will not like it, because when I told her I was dying it she said just don't get anything with red in it, Oooops!  Red Head Mary

I will try to take some pictures tomorrow so you can see it. Sonny likes it and I will get my daughters opinion tomorrow also. She isn't fond of auburn hair, I don't know why, her brother has auburn hair and she likes it, lol. I guess I will eventually get use to it, it's just a drastic change from white to this, especially since it's not what I was expecting. Mary

It's not so much that I'm not happy with it as it is that I'm just not use to seeing my hair a dark color. It's been a long time since my hair was a darker color and for the past 4 years or so it has been almost white (silver).  I'll take a couple of days to see if I adjust to it, lol.  If not then I will try to get her to fix it. I just can't figure out why she said it would be blonde and showed me the color and then it turned out auburn. Oh well, it's almost the color my mother use to keep hers and I always loved her color. My grandfather was a redhead and my mother always use to talk about having a redheaded child and never did, I was blonde until my late teens. She died when I was 15 and never got to see my son who has auburn hair. Hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving too. Hugs! Mary

My sister colored my hair one time. She wanted mine to have a reddish tint like hers. Well, needless to say mine came out looking like Ronald McDonald's wig. So what I did was go get ablonde color to lighten it up. I've been blonde ever since. I use light ash blonde and in the summer I use extra light ash blonde, for a darker blonde I use just ash blonde. On my pic I had used the ash blonde. Good luck. Teresa M. I was so blonde as a child that my hair was almost white. I stayed blonde until my teenage years and it turned what I would call a dark blonde. After the gray started appearing I kept it colored blonde up until just a few years ago I let it grow out to it's natural silver. I just wanted to go back to a blonde and this ended up a very dark auburn, not even close to what I was suppose to get. I had mixed reactions to it yesterday, so I decided to try to get it back blonde. I put a pale blonde on it and it did nothing to change the color, I even tried a highlighting kit that my daughter had and that did nothing, so now I am sitting here with a color stripper on it totally removing the color and Im going to start all over with a blonde. Wish me luck, because so far nothing has worked, lol.  Hugs! Mary
