Hair color change?
OK, I need your help. I have been seriously thinking about dying my hair. I don't know if this is steming from the new bod or what, but I am so tired of looking in the mirror, seeing perky boobs and flat tummy then looking up and seeing this old sagging face with silver hair staring back at me. I don't know if changing my hair color would even make a difference and this might be one of those "mental" things I am going through, so I am asking for opinions on what to do.Every time I mention it to anyone I get the same answer "If I had your hair color I would leave it alone". Thats when I feel like telling them to take it and wear it for a day and see if they feel the same way afterwards, lol. Even the last hairstylist I went to told me to leave it alone. I grew up a blonde but it got darker over the years so I don't know if I would want to go back blonde or go a little darker. I don't think real dark hair looks great on an older lady, so I don't want to go too dark. I would even be happy if they could do a reverse frosting, by just adding more dark to what I have, but I dont know if that can even be done or not. So I am asking for opinions on what I should do. Yes I need help making up my mind, lol. If anyone knows of a salon that does good coloring let me know. I would rather someone who knows what they are doing to do it the first few times rather than mess it up doing it at home.

Sounds like mid-life crisis to me LOL!! Just kiddiing! I dye my hair to keep the gray at bay! I would go for it girl! Teresa at Identity on Congaree Road does a great job. My daughter's boyfriend's mom does hair (she cuts mine) but she can be a little dingy sometimes so I think Teresa would be a good bet.

Speaking as someone whose hair has been every color (including black and an unfortunate burgundy-fading-to-pink) (early 90's newly single phase)
I say go for it. if you hate it , trust me you can always change it. I have! Just this past year I have been a red-head, a blond and now I'm back to my natural brown with some blond highlights. I'm too chicken to get anything pierced or tattooed so I play with my hair. Good Luck and post pics!

My mom has been a cosmetologist for 30 years now and I have watched her color alot of hair and usually for someone that is all over grey, people choose blonde because it looks a bit more natural. Some people go dark but I agree that it looks better lighter. I would go to the hairdresser and she/he should know what is the best color for your skin tone. BTW I think that your silver hair is beautiful and I would not get lowlights added to it. Believe me when I say that some women pay alot of money to get the pure silver hair, most women naturally have the salt and pepper hair.
I had a color consult today at the salon in the plastic surgeons building. She suggested a medium blonde, not too light and not too dark. So I have an appointment Wednesday to have it done. I know the silver hair looks beautiful on some women, I am just wanting to try something different and if I don't like it, I can always grow it back out, lol. She said the silver will act as highlitghts in my hair, so hopefully it won't look dull or look like it has been colored. When I use to keep it blonde my silver always showed through and it looked good, not like it is added highlights just natural. I will let everyone know how it turns out.
Where does your mom work? I might check her out for future coloring.
Hugs!
