Sumter Weight Loss Surgery Support Group

Wanted to get an idea of the number of people that would attend a meeting if there was one set up at Tuomey again??  My physicians office is trying to make arrangements with thier support coordinator to set up meetings in Sumter for us because it's just so hard to get to Columbia.  If you had an opportunity to attend would you??  Please let me know when you have a few moments. This goes for surrounding areas as well since we have quite a few remote areas that might have patients having has WLS. Thanks!!

I definatly would and  know a few others that would as well. i had dr. *****ett i see you had tribble..are you talking about that lady from support group up there comeing down here.. cause i say we just get a bunch of us together and have our own support group...ether way i would come though! Yes Marilyn and I have been talking because I was trying to get one started at Shaw.  I figured if Ft. Jackson was saying how healthy it would be for thier patients to have the procedure and they started a support group that Shaw should support thier patients as well.  We're working on it.  But in the meantime, Marilyn did get approval for a room at Tuomey.  So I'm trying to do anything I can to get her here, I just need to know I won't be the only person showing up :-)  Let me know how many people you can get to go and we'll go from there.   Add me to your friends so I can keep you updated!! :-) Jenn

Hi I am  new and live in sumter. I was wonder if you guys ever got the support group here in sumter.

Let me start by saying welcome.  Yes there is supposed to be a group that just started.  I have an appt tomorrow at Dr. Tribble's office and I"ll get all the information and let you know when and where the next meeting will be.  It's open to anyone interested in bariatric surgery pre and post op.  And it's headed up by Marilyn so it will be a wonderful meeting for sure!!  Welcome to Obesity Help and I would love to help more if you need anything :-)
