Dr Armstrong leaving

In our meeting last night Dr Armstong said said turned in her resignation because she could not see all the patients she needed to when she was only in the office for 2 days a week. She has a private practice and also has an agreement with her patients that she will be their doctor for life as Dr. Bour does. She would like to stay on and still see patients and still run support group in addition to getting more help to provide services for our psychological needs.

She would like to stay on and help the new doctor that is coming aboard because he even full time may not be able to see all the new and current patients.

She said since Dr. Bour is always focused on surgery that he may not be aware of our needs on the psychological end.  And sometimes the hospital system does not see the importance of people and that everyone is replaceable and they now own the practice. She said Dr Russell may come back in the Fall and no offense but he was not always helpful to a lot of us.

If you have any comments or suggestions that may give him a better understaing of why we need her and that the practice needs more then 1 psychiatrist on staff as he promised us care for life then to please e-mail him asap. [email protected] and hers is [email protected] .

  Ugh, I have an appointment with her in a few weeks for my 3 month check up...it will be my first visit to the psych since the test we had to take before surgery. When is her resignation effective? Sheesh, I kinda liked her, too. Melissa

I found that out Thursday when I tried rescheduling my 6 month appt that they had cancelled 3 weeks ago. They told me they would put me on a waiting list. I did not hear why she was leaving. They really need a FULL TIME psychologist. When I see him next week when I have my surgery I will bend his ear about it.
