Get Infection = lose 12 Pounds

Hey Y'all.  In case you didn't know, After my gall bladder surg and a week in the hospital, I never really "bounced back" so last Mon I went back to my surgeon for another CT scan and you guessed it! I had a big ole' pocket of infection! So they put another drain in to drain it and IV antibiotics and I spent another week in MUSC. Friday when I came home they told me that my infection is E-Coli based and will not respond to oral antibiotics and they had to install a PICC line and a nurse comes to the house every day to give me IV antibiotics!  It kind of sucks but I am feeling better.  Thank God for my husband and the in-laws and my parents!  So there I am.  I'm gonna rest and I just wanted to keep in touch and whine a little..Any body got any cheese to go with my whine??  But I lost 12 pounds through the ordeal so I'm down 100 pounds now and wearing a size 12 from a 26!  I totally cheated with the gall bladder thing though.   Have a great day everyone!!!

I TOTALLY want to lose 12 pounds. I don't wanna be sick though...any other pointers??? Hehe.  I am sorry you had to go through all that.  It will be behind you soon though.   Take care of yourself!! P.S.  Am I the only one on this board that still has their gall bladder????

Do NOT take the gall bladder route..trust me , it sucks.

No, I still have my gall bladder...but I still have these 25 pounds to loose also.  Humm...I bet I could take 2 weeks of sickness, they do give you pain killers right? I am sorry that you had to go through this, but I am glad you are on the way back up. Deb

I am glad you are on the road to recovery and feeling better. I have not had problems with my GB yet... hopefully won't! Time will tell I guess!!!!!  Pam
