Hey Terri,

You will have to make sure they get down to the Market area in Downtown Charleston, that is a must.  You could try a carriage ride, but they can get expensive with a lot of people.  a Ghost Walk is fun and you can shop around to find a cheap one, not sure how much they run.  You can go to the aquarium cant remember how much.  There is also the boat tour to Fort Sumter and Patriots Point if you have some Navy people in your group.  Charlestowne Landing is pretty inexpensive and has a animal forest and old boat, great place for picnic.

Inexpensive places to eat in the downtown area my be tough.  Most places will have their menus on the front door so you can check it out.  Hyman's seafood is good and I think relatively inexpensive depending on what you get.  There are tons of little resturants up and down King Street that are inexpensive.  It just depends on what you mean by inexpensive and cheap.  Avoid, Magnolia's, Blossom's, Anson, Garibaldi's, and most resturants around the Market area.  La Quinta should have some tourist information for you, if not when you get to the market there are tons of places that have dining guides.  There is one resturant, T-bonz, that is in the market area and is like an Applebee's.  There is also a Noisy Oyster down at the maarkey, I believe those are realively cheap but have good food. I hope you have a good time. Julie

I can go the distance... I do not care how far... I know every mile will be worth my while.

My goal in life is to be as good of a person as my DOGS already think I am!

Wow!  We could stay here for an entire week and still have lots of stuff to do!  Thank you so much.  I know Hyman's seafood is on the agenda!  Like I said earlier, we are looking more for a cheaper hotel so we can do more stuff!

I am not too interested in the food this year!  Yippee!  I just wanna shop and see stuff.  For the first time in my life I won't be counting the steps before I pass out from carrying so much weight.  I just can't wait to walk, walk, walk!

Thanks so much for your kindness and super good info!  I am gonna print this out and stuff it in my purse for the trip!

God Bless!

Terri

I'm all about the FREE things to do also.   I like to go to the Battery and take a stroll  along the water and let the kids run and play in the park.  FREE.  Lots of history down there.  Right around the corner is also the famous Rainbow Row homes.  The water front park is only a few blocks away too.  You can sit in the porch style swings and look out over the water.  I have a few pictures on my profile of some of these areas. Then if you are there, you can stroll through Market Street.  FREE.  There is an open market of all sorts of things from Jewlery to clothes, blankets, food, everything you can think of and more.  The Straw Basket Weavers are set up there, and there are all sorts of places to grab lunch or dinner. Then you can drive right over the bridge and go to the beach.  FREE.  Its never too cold to take a stroll.  Grab a jacket and have lunch on the beach. There is also the Yorktown air craft carrier.  If you don't tour the carrier (which can be a little pricey), I sometimes go there just to walk around the gift store and look at some of the FREE things to look at.  More history. Subway has 4 6-inch subs for around $11.00 after 4pm. If I can help, just let me know. I hope you and your family have a blast here. Deb

Hey Deb!

Thanks so much for the info!  It seems we are birds of a feather!  I checked out your profile, and you are looking so awsome!  Great job on the weight loss!  We had surgery within a day of each other!

Again, thanks for the info.  I look forward to my weekend!

God Bless ya girl!
