Question to all

I was wondering how long you all had to stay out of work after surgery?  I work full time and PT and do a lot of standing pushing pulling, lifting, but my dr only wants to sign me out for 2 wks at the most.  How did you all do afterwards.  Was that enough time for you all to be pain free and get back to normal.

I was out for a week, then did a week of half days.

I'll be honest, it was rough.  I was very very tired for about 4 weeks.  I have a pretty sedentary job.

Good Luck

There is a huge difference in the recovery time for Lab Band and RNY.  My office mate had Lap Band and was back at work in a week feeling pretty good.  I had RNY and it took me 5 weeks.

You should be ok with 2 weeks with Lap Band.

I had the RNY, not the lapband, but I stayed out 2 1/2 weeks. I would have went back sooner but I had problems with my O2 sats in the hospital and was on oxygen for almost 2 weeks. It  also ended up working out that way because of how my work schedule was. I worked 12 hour shifts at the hospital, on my feet and lifting patients. I never had any problems going back that soon.
