Keep on being a nonsmoker!  I know you probably don't want to hear that - but it'll be the healthiest choice you can make beyond your wls.  This can create a whole new you!  Hang in there and become a "losing nonsmoker"

I am an ex-smoker.  I quit 1 month before surgery, I did pick it back up about 3 months later.  I had to quit again before my plastic surgery.

The best thing is not to pick it back up again, you are at a greater risk of getting an ulcer than before.  So my advice, as hard as it is, dont pick them back up, I found it harder to quit when I picked it up after surgery than I did before.

Check with your surgeon, there is a new drug out there called Chantix that is FDA approved for quitting smoking, not sure if you are able to take it this soon out, but that is what I went on to quit before my plastics and it works.  Gave me strange dreams but I was able to quit before my plastic surgery.

Good Luck

Julie
