I had a lot of back pain when I was in the hospital and about 2 weeks after I got home but I believe it was from the way I was having to sleep. I am a side sleeper and until I got the drain out 2 weeks after surgery I was having to sleep on my back. I hope this helps!
Hugs,
Karen

Same here, I thought it was from the anestesia that they used. It does go away soon. And don't worry about whining-we're all whiners every now and then---thats what the board is for....and we were ALL whiney after surgery. No worries

Hi,    I too had horrible back pain.  I remember it getting better the more I was able to move around.  I think that part of mine was the drain also.  It definately gets better as time goes one Mary

I also had really bad back pain. I was a mess after surgery. Ask anyone on here. I regretted the surgery and hated myself. It was pretty bad..I will pray for you. I hope you feel better soon. Jennifer

Ditto, Ditto, & Ditto! I had bad headaches, too, but the more I got up & moved around, the less intense they were. I know you probably DON'T want to hear this - but exercising is probably the best thing to get those gases out of your system & get it back right again. Just a few short walks should help - the fresh air doesn't hurt either!

And don't worry about the whining - Lord knows I've done my share (and will probably do more!).

We're here for you!!

Oh Lord yes!!!! I have a real bad back anyways, and the first few days and weeks were bad.  My back hurt me 10 times that of the surgery.  I too believe it is the way you have to sleep at first, and with all the meds that your have had during surgery and now, you really aren't resting too well.  I know you are probably  kicking yourself for this surgery right now, but don't.  In a month you will be sooooooo glad that you did it. Hang in there girl, and get moving when you can. Deb
