regretting WLS
Very normal...you will be ok. We all doubt our decision at one point or another. In the end I would do it all over again to get these results.
You will be able to move on from this soon. No one could have prepared me for the emotional roller coaster I went through my first 2 weeks out of surgery. Just rest assured, this too will pass!!!

(((((HUGS))))) I definitely regretted it for the first few days. I felt like crap. I hadn't ever had surgery before, and I was miserable. However, as the weight falls off, and you have more energy and feel better, it will get less frustrating. Remember, it is a long road, but in the end, it will be okay. If it is not okay, it is not the end.

yeah it takes at LEAST 3 days for the initial "omg pain" to go down.. you are just now there.. give it 2 more days and im sure youll be thinking "phew" .. every lap surgery ive had is about 3 days of pain and the rest is easy.. we all had the "what the hell did i do to myself" moment after surgery its normal.. just hang in there and walk the gas out of your body.. youll feel better if you get up and move more. GOOD LUCK! :)

Yes, Rebecca - we have ALL regretted it in the beginning. Mainly because of the pain & soreness, but it will go away. My best helper was just walking. It hurt some at first, but it was a god-send to get out and work it out. Now, three weeks out, there's no soreness, no aching. Some days are better than others. Some days I just want to sit & do nothing - others I do as much as my body will let me, then I rest. I quit taking ANY pain meds because they just seemed to make me sleepy & really didn't make the pain go away.
I know you will feel better, hon - hang in there & remember we're all here for support!

I am just over a week out and I am still a little sore and it is hard to get comfortable to sleep, but overall I feel great. I still get lightheaded/weak feeling, but I think it is because I am struggling to get all my fluids and protein in. At less than a week out I was down over 10 pounds, and that made the pain somewhat worth it.
I haven't taken my pain meds since Monday because they just make me drowsy and all I do is sleep. The pain isn't so terrible that I can't do anything, so I am better off without them. I have definitely had regret moments, and my emotions are all out of whack. Every time my hubby and my sister go out to eat I stay home alone, I feel sad about not being able to go eat with them so I run upstairs and hop on my scale to see how far I've come in such a very short time. It helps with the regret.
Everyone I have talked to IRL has said that the first month is the toughest since it is pureed/liquids only. So I am counting down until the real textured food again, that helps too. Please hang in there and get lost of rest, drink your fluids, and watch that weight fall off of you. You can always message me if you need anything! Sariah
Sounds like you are right on track with the rest of us!!!!
The first month is the hardest. After that month, then you get to enjoy learning what you can eat and what you can not. Seafood was the best thing for me the 2nd month through the 3rd. For me it was hard to go out to eat. No matter what I ate I would want to throw it up, or I would get the foamies and would wish I could throw up. By about 3 months, you will be so happy with yourself that you did it.
Just get rest, walk when you can and sip-sip-sip.
