I"m glad you're doing oK.  I can't help as far as how long the soreness last. I haven't had WLS yet. I'm sure you will be getting alot of answers for that soon. Take care.

Congrats!!!  We will move on over and make room for you.  I was sore about 2-3 weeks.  I felt like I had been ran over by a mack truck.  At one of the group sessions they showed us a film of the surgery and I know why I felt like that now.  Everyone is different as far as how long the pain will last.  Mine wasn't too bad but enough to make you not feel good.  It takes about 6 weeks to totally heal.  Take care and God bless.

Welcome to the losers bench! I was fortunate that I didn't have much discomfort at all, infact I never even had my pain medicine prescription filled when I got home. I had some soreness around my drain for about 3 weeks, but it wasn't bad at all. Just keep in mind you had a lot of instruments inside of you and things were litterally rearanged, cut, stapeled, stitched and god only knows what else, so you will have some soreness. I know it all depends on the person and everyone is different. Just hang in there ,it will get better soon, and keep active, sitting or laying around only makes it worse. Mary

Welcome home Becca!  You'll be sore for awhile, but after the first week it'll get better every day.  Baby steps, at this point though.  Pamper yourself with rest, and lots of steady walking around the house.  You'll be back to feeling like yourself again soon. Don't forget to drink your water!

Welcome home. Glad all went well. You will be sore for a week or so but it gets better as the days go by. Just remember to sip sip sip and sip some more. Don't try to over do yourself just relax you just had major surgery and it will take some time to heal. Welcome to the loser's side of the world.
