has anyone else....

Hello everyone, I am having some problems and need to know if anyone else has experienced light headedness?  I sometimes feel like I am about to pass out and then it passes.  I just feel weird.  I have cottonmouth but can only drink a few sips at a time before I feel full.  Is this normal?  What am I doing wrong?  If you have any help please let me know. Hi Ruth,  Sounds like your getting dehydrated.  Sip, Sip, and Sip some more, LOL.  Try some Prpel, it is made by gaterade but not as sweet as gaterade.  Did you have high blood pressure before surgery?  If you did, your meds may need to be adjusted.  I hope this helps but you can always call the dr and make sure. 

You're not doing anything wrong!  It's so important to get all tha****er in though ... and dehydration can cause you to feel lightheaded.  In the first few months after surgery, that means sipping almost all the time!  (it gets better.  As time goes by, you can drink more at a time.) Please check with your doctor though, and let him know you're feeling dizzy and lightheaded.  It could be that something else is going on.  My "dizzy" episodes happened because my chest was filling with fluid and my heart was having to work double-time.  Of course, that was after being sick for almost a month, but my point is -- your doctor is the one to make the call on what's happening to cause the dizziness.
